Lore

Abondance hosts a great many paintings. Among them is the freshly painted Codex of Luminous Spells. The Kings who sealed the divinities are held responsible. Their action is a curse that contributed to the release of the Abyss. The event gave rise to a grim period called the Curse of the Kings. Today, we know they in fact played only a tragic role on a vast chessboard. This benevolent painting is a reconstruction of the Ancient Woes, remade by the Mistress of Tints. According to her, one must pay tribute to the forgotten heroes.
